WHAT BINGSU ACTUALLY IS
Bingsu is finely shaved ice topped with ingredients such as sweet red bean, fruit, condensed milk, matcha, rice cake or other seasonal flavors.
Korean shaved ice explained simply, from the basic idea to the many modern variations.

Bingsu is finely shaved ice topped with ingredients such as sweet red bean, fruit, condensed milk, matcha, rice cake or other seasonal flavors.
The cold, light base works well in Korea’s hot and humid summer, and cafés can easily turn it into seasonal desserts using fruit or different toppings.
In summer, convenience stores may sell simple packaged or instant-style bingsu, while cafés and coffee chains often serve freshly prepared versions. Dessert cafés may also offer larger bingsu designed for sharing.
